How we work: findings first, then repairs, all on the record

Software agents collect and check, a person reads, decides and signs off. How our diagnosis works, what the change log holds, where you approve.

Why a page about method

Most marketing providers describe their results. We'd rather describe how we work, because results depend on your market and how we work doesn't. It's also the honest answer to two questions people ask us: how can a written diagnosis take only 48 hours on working days, and what role does AI play?

The short version: software agents collect and check, a person reads, decides and signs off. You get the findings in writing; who puts them into practice is up to you: your team, your agency or, if you like, us.

The name

Werbechirurg is German for "advertising surgeon". It's a metaphor, not a credential. What we borrowed from medicine is a way of working: examine before you operate, record what you did, and make sure someone else could follow it later. We are not a medical service and make no medical claims.

Step 1: Diagnosis

A diagnosis starts with your website address. Software agents then do the work a person wouldn't have time for in 48 hours on working days:

  • crawl your pages and check indexing, redirects, canonicals and structured data
  • load the site as a new visitor and record which tags, cookies and requests occur before and after consent
  • measure load times on mobile
  • look up your live ads in Google's Ads Transparency Center and Meta's Ad Library
  • check your Google Business Profile and business listings
  • test forms with real submissions

What this looks like for specific topics: Google Ads in Germany, SEO for the German market, Consent, TDDDG and Impressum.

All of this uses public sources. We don't need logins, passwords or customer data.

Step 2: Cross-check and human review

Each draft finding goes through a second, separate check whose job is to disprove it. Did the tag really fire before consent, or was it a cached page? Is that page really missing from Google's index, or just slow to appear? Findings that don't survive are removed or weakened.

Then a person reads the whole report, decides what goes in and in what order, and signs it off. No report leaves us without that.

The finished report states, for each finding, what we saw, where (screenshot, network log, measurement), what it probably costs you, and how much effort a fix takes. It also says when something is fine.

Step 3: Repair, with a change log

If you hire us to fix what we found, every intervention is recorded in a change log:

  • what was changed, and where
  • before: the state we found, with a backup
  • after: the new state
  • why: the finding it addresses
  • rollback: how to undo it
  • result: what we measured afterwards, including when it didn't work

The log is yours. It answers the question "what did the agency actually do?" before you have to ask.

Where your approval is needed

Anything that moves money (budgets, bids, new campaigns), anything published in your name (ads, posts, replies to reviews, page copy) and anything legally sensitive waits for your explicit approval. Technical repairs are agreed in advance and logged.

What we don't do

We don't guarantee rankings, leads or returns on ad spend. We don't write fake reviews or invent case studies. We don't give legal advice; where we see a legal question, we say so and recommend a lawyer. And we don't present AI output as a person's work, or a person's judgement as an automated score.

About transparency

The EU AI Act includes transparency obligations for certain AI uses, such as chatbots. Our reports are reviewed and signed off by a person, but we tell you how they are produced anyway, because you should know what you are paying for.

Prices for repairs and ongoing work are published on our homepage in the “Preise” section of our homepage.

Send us your website. Within 48 hours on working days you'll have a written diagnosis, produced exactly as described here. The full report is free, and so is a first call afterwards (terms).

Frequently asked questions

Do you use AI?

Yes. Software agents collect data, run checks and draft findings. A second, separate check tries to disprove each finding. A person reads every report, decides what goes in and signs it off before it reaches you.

Can the AI change things on my website or in my ad accounts on its own?

Nothing that moves money or appears in your name happens without your approval. Technical changes are backed up beforehand and recorded in the change log with a way to roll them back.

Is Werbechirurg a medical service?

No. The name means "advertising surgeon" and is a metaphor for the way we work: diagnosis before intervention, and every intervention documented. We don't provide medical services.

What data do your tools see?

For the diagnosis, only publicly available information about your website and ads. If you later give us access to accounts, we use it only for the agreed work. The services we use for data processing are listed in our privacy policy.

Who is behind Werbechirurg?

Werbechirurg is a brand of GAG German Personal Assistance Group GmbH, Berlin. Dmitri Shelkov, founder of Werbechirurg with more than 10 years of experience in online marketing, is responsible for the work. Full company details are in our Impressum.
